THE ULTIMATE VIRTUAL TEAMBUILDING ACTIVITY.
Escape Alcatraz is an online, moderated 70-minute adventure that was designed for corporate team building. In this activity, you and your colleagues will be challenged to work together as a team to find clues and solve puzzles as you attempt to escape from the most secure prison ever built!

We start by dividing your group (we support 5 to 1,000+ participants) into teams of 5. Teams can be either randomized or pre-assigned, it's entirely up to you!
On the event day, we use Zoom Breakout Rooms to send your teams into their escape room along with one of our Wardens (our live game moderators). Each team is assigned their own Warden for the duration of the activity to help introduce the game and provide hints and guidance, when needed. Don't have Zoom? No problem! We support all major videoconferencing platforms.

Each of your teams will then compete against the clock to see if they can escape...and if they can escape with the fastest time! The leaderboard is tracked in real-time, and the winning team is crowned at the end of the session.

WHAT IS A VIRTUAL ESCAPE ROOM?
A virtual escape room is a web-based, moderated game that is conducted over a video conference platform like Zoom or Microsoft Teams in teams of 4 to 6 players. For larger groups, participants are split into teams using Breakout Rooms. Participants can either be located separately from each other or can all play from the same room, and our moderator(s) will join virtually.
In a virtual escape room, the group of players will collaborate together to uncover clues and solve puzzles in order to “escape” from a themed location. Our virtual escape room, Escape Alcatraz, has been specially created to be both engaging and fun, and require players to collaborate and work together at a level that far beyond what they might be used to in an everyday work situations.
When combined with the storyline and time constraints of the game itself, we are able to create an environment that allows the team to experience levels of emotion, enjoyment, and bonding that they’ll remember for a long time to come. For this reason, we believe virtual escape rooms like Escape Alcatraz are an extremely compelling activity for a team building event or even when used in combination with employee training!

At Escape Alcatraz, we have the capability to accommodate teams of as few as 3 players and as many as you can challenge us with. Our largest event ever? In January 2021, we ran 152 games of Escape Alcatraz at the same time (a total of over 1,200 players!) for an entire company based across 10 countries. We are confident that we have the experience and the manpower to work with you, whoever you are, and we would love to have the opportunity to talk with you about your event.

WHY ESCAPE ALCATRAZ?
We originally designed Escape Alcatraz after being commissioned to find a suitable virtual escape room for a corporate retreat of 1,200 employees in 2020. After scouring the globe, we found that every vendor we trialed had built their games using nothing more than a Google Form or a series of images shared with players over Google Drive and Zoom. Feeling so underwhelmed with the state of the virtual escape market, we decided to create our own game.
Using a combination of clever web design, professional illustrations, animated videography, and interactive 2D games, we launched Escape Alcatraz in late 2020 and debuted the game to a group of 1,200 employees (split into 152 teams, each comprised of 7-8 players) with raving reviews!
We built Escape Alcatraz with a single goal in mind – to not only be the best virtual escape room your team has ever played, but one of the best and most memorable team building games they will ever play. We’re confident we delivered that product, and we are continuously working to make it even better.
